Host Johannes Sommer
From an early age, the heart of the native of the Black Forest has beaten for the gastronomy and hotel business.
He first gained experience in the private sector with events for friends and family, until he finally gained a foothold in the professional gastronomy world with his training as a hotel manager. Happy to have made the right decision, he first gained experience in some of the most traditional hotels in the Black Forest. However, he was quickly drawn to Switzerland, which has not let go of him since.
One could think that it was love at first sight when Johannes Sommer first saw the Boutiquehotel Bären and that it was destiny.
Since July 2021, Johannes Sommer has been head of accommodation at the Boutiquehotel Bären and, in addition, has been allowed to call himself host and operations manager since January 2022.
Thus, the Boutiquehotel Bären now has a warm, passionate and competent host and operations manager who places great value on employee as well as guest satisfaction.
Having arrived in the Appenzell region and at the Hotel Bären, he leads the hotel into a reliable future.
Wine luminary Hans Rhyner
Hans Rhyner learned his craft autodidactically. Good food and a fine glass of wine have always been a pleasure for him. Gradually, his curiosity grew about how a good drop of wine is created.
On many trips around the world, he has visited a wide variety of wineries, from large companies to the smallest. Now he is very much looking forward to the new stage in Gonten and the collaboration with the chef Jürgen Schmid.
